GU272

2026

"GU272" is a documentary style immersive dance film turned installation that explores the legacy of the 272 enslaved individuals sold by Georgetown University in 1838. Set against the backdrop of contemporary America, the film features descendants of the GU272 as protagonists, using dance and cinematic storytelling to confront and reflect on their shared history. Through a blend of live performance, interviews, and interdisciplinary art, the film delves into key issues of memory, identity, and reconciliation.
